Kedarkantha Trek is conveniently accessible from Dehradun. It will take 5 to 6 hours to travel directly by bus from Delhi to Dehradun. Dehradun may be reached by rail as there are direct trains running from the capital to the city. Once you reach Dehradun, our representative will pick you up and transfer you using a taxi.

 

 

 

Day 1: Start from Dehradun to Sankri which would be a 9-hour drive.

 

Day 2: Sankri to Juda-ka-Talab, the trek would take approximately 3-4 hours.

 

Day 3: Reach the Kedarkantha Base Camp after 5 hours of trekking.

 

Day 4: From the base camp, reach the summit which will take about 4-5 hours.

 

Day 5: A 2-hour trek through Sankri and an 8-hour drive to Dehradun.

Day 1: 

Start your journey from Dehradun at 7 am, meet us at the Dehradun Railway Station and we will pick you up from there. Along the trip, you will pass through picturesque places like Mussoorie and Purola. The 7-8 hours drive to the Sankri town is a beautiful experience, you will be surrounded by nature the entire way, with stunning landscapes, the aroma of a pine forest, and Himalayan flora and fauna. The total distance is approximately 185 km with the breathtaking and spectacular drive will win your heart right away. When you get to Sankri, check in to your hotel for a night stay. Enjoy a delicious dinner and have a good night’s sleep as the next day awaits you for a thrilling trek.

Day2:

The next day, have your breakfast at 9 am in Sankri, and then we will start a short hike after breakfast that will mostly take us through a woodland. We will hike up to Juda-ka-Talab, a tiny pond that freezes over in the winter, and showcases a gorgeous view. The distance is around 3-4 km and would take 4-5 hours of trek to reach there. This lake has a spiritual significance and breathtaking vistas of snow-covered mountains. As we continue to ascend, we will catch glimpses of the snow-capped Himalayan peaks. We will continue hiking for another hour until we reach the meadows, where we will set up camp for the night and have dinner, and wander around the area with its mesmerizing views and scenic indulgence.

Day 3:

Day 3 begins with having breakfast at 9 am in Juda-ka-Talab and embarking on our journey to the Kedarkantha base camp. The distance from the lake to the base camp is around 4 km and it will take 4-5 hours of trek to reach there. Start your journey, ascend, pass through a deep forest, and you will come to an open meadow. Stop and enjoy the breathtaking Himalayan views. Keep going through the pine forests till you arrive at your camp location, where Kedarkantha Peak is breathtaking. After that, take in the breathtaking vistas and enjoy a wonderful lunch. After lunch, take a stroll across the beautiful landscape of the base camp and spend time with your fellow trekkers. Sharing stories about your adventures with your group of travelers while dining and relaxing in your comfortable tents will make the evening enjoyable.

day4

Day4:

Reach the Kedarkantha summit from the base camp at 4 am in the morning. The climb is steep, but the distance to the peak is short. We will select the best path dependent on the snow conditions, and it will take us around 4-5 hours. Nothing is more exciting than standing atop a mountain and watching the sun come up. It astounds everyone who sees it. Come back from the summit, and have a wholesome lunch at Juda-ka-Talab, followed by a night stay and dinner.

Day 5:

The final day of the trek is here. Start your drive from Juda-ka-Talab to Sankri which will take approximately 2 hours for a 3-4 km drive. Eventually, on reaching Sankri, our driver will pick you up and you will be transferred back to Dehradun Railway Station.

Cancellation Policy

    1. In case of any emergency, or unavoidable circumstance, if you need to cancel the trek or any related activity, make sure to give us a call at +91 89795 68292.

    2. The cancellation fees will be applied beginning on the day we get a call from you regarding withdrawal of the trek, and will be as follows:

      ● Before 30 days: 90% of the total cost will be refunded
      ● Between 20−30 days: 70% of the total cost will be refunded
      ● Between 10−20 days: 50% of the total cost will be refunded
      ● Less than 7 days: No refund will be applicable

    3. Refunds are not valid in case of-

      ● Any unused services such as meals will not be reimbursed for any reason.
      ● If you leave the trek in between after we pick you up from the meeting point.
      ● If a customer is dissatisfied with any of the operator’s services.

Day 1: Reporting At Sankri.

Post your arrival at Dehradun; you will be heading to Sankri via Mussorie. Drive Dehradun to Sankri that takes you along the Yamuna exquisite, offers the feeling of joy. It’s an 8 hrs journey, where you’ll find yourself in the Uttarkashi District which will be trailed by a spell-bounding beauty of valleys and forest cover. Full of heritage beauty with under the unite trail.
Uttarkashi states for ‘Kashi’ in the south which is one of the holy places in India. It has its rich mythology behind the site. GMVN is very active in this valley for tourism, which is a good sign for trekkers to get availabilities.
Prior reaching to Sankri about 22 km, trekkers get the most fantastic feeling of serene Himalayas and greenery. As the path passes through Govind national park which is famous for its avid collection of Flora, finds only in this region and nowhere in the country.

Day 2: Sankri to Juda Ka Taal.

Your trek will begin today where you’ll head towards Juda Ka Taal having an altitude of 9100 Ft. covering approx. 5 km till afternoon that may take 5 hrs depends on the trekker's capability. Witness numerous adventures on the trail, Ice and slush would bother you a bit while walking, but you’ll perform well with our expert guide.
The trek will begin with a beautiful pine &, maple forest which will ascend alongside the wildlife and meadows. Gradually trailing upwards, you’ll spot some hut alongside the fields. Its soft surface of grassland where locals do swimming on summers. You’ll get the Luke warm water all around the lake and rest will be the colder. And in winters you can see a sheet of ice instead of water. Through one big natural tunnel provide the same water to villagers. In the absence of electronic music, birds tweet can take the place of it, once the trekker crosses the village the path turns into full curves and Climbs.
Initially, the climb would be through Bridges, and the most exciting thing one can witness is the Himalayan Languor, though they are shy animals so you may only get the Glimpse of them. Apart from it; boars, martens and hares are also visible in the region. Juda ka Tal is a mesmerizing destination in the thick pine and oak forest, and this will be the destination for today to set a camp and enjoy the beauty in the lap of Mother Nature.

Day 3: Juda Ka Taal to Kedarkantha Base Camp.

Juda Ka Taal is a magnificent lake surrounded by the pine trees which gets freeze during winters and became a spot for adventures and fun activities for the trekkers. The trail will be getting steeper as you move forward where your trek guide can teach you some skills for snow slopes and also do listen to him; he might assist you regarding how big you footsteps should be. The destination of this day is Kedarkantha base camp lies at an altitude of 11,250 Ft. which is approx 4 km from Juda ka Taal and may take 2.5 hrs to reach.
The journey again starts from the dense forest of pine and oak trees, and also the trail passes through the steep ridges. Walking towards the path and at an altitude of 10,400 Ft. one can witness the snow traces and imagine the whole scenarios of the destination.
The breathtaking view is still waiting to shock the trekkers to the core as just before reaching the base camp trekkers can witness the appealing view of arc-shaped ranges covered with snow such as Bandarpoonch, Swargarohini, Kala Nag and Ranglana standing with pride in a lap of Mother Nature.

Day 4: Kedarkantha Base to Kedarkantha to Back to Kedarkantha base.

The day will be a long one as you would be heading towards Kedarkantha Peak. Today's elevation is from 11,250 Ft. to 12,500 Ft. and May take around 6 Km trekking that might be cover in 7 hrs and the trail will be steeper. During the trek, you’ll see the magical colors of nature. You'll be joyful with the majestic view of many ranges like Rupin and a lot more. The reason for calling it Kedarkantha, hearsay from villagers is; 1st they try to build Kedarnath temple in that peak, but they heard some animal's sound which is an omen for a spiritual event.
So till then they construct lord Shiva’s statue till neck and in Hindi Neck is known as 'Kanth' and Lord Shiva is having lots of names, so Kedar is one of them. That’s why it’s "KEDARKANTHA".
In Kedarkantha peak you can treat your eyes with following valleys that are- SWARGAROHINI, GANGOTRI, KALANAAG, YAMUNOTRI & BANDAROOCH. Once you are on the summit the captivating view will balance your emotion and gradually turns it into the spirituality. As at the top there is a small temple dedicated to Lord Shiva and goddess Parvati and a small shrine of Lord Ganesh too.

Day 5: Kedarkantha Base Camp to Sankri.

The day has come where you’ll have to leave the majestic view of the Himalayas and snowcapped mountain ranges. We’ll be heading back to the Sankri today. And the trek will be simple since the distance is short. Sankri is the stoppage village for more than ten treks; Known as Bali pass, Borasu pass, etc. The morning will welcome you with a spectacular sunrise between the pine trees which will proceed with the breakfast.

day6

Day 6:  Drive back to Dehradun.

On your 6th day, you will head towards Dehradun from Sankri/Kotgaon, and it will take 6 hrs to reach. So better to start early in the morning, collect the memories and drive back to dehradun with all the fun and love.

Today's elevation is from 11,250 Ft. to 12,500 Ft. and May take around 6 Km trekking that might be cover in 7 hrs and the trail will be steeper. During the trek, you’ll see the magical colors of nature. You'll be joyful with the majestic view of many ranges like Rupin and a lot more. The reason for calling it Kedarkantha, hearsay from villagers is; 1st they try to build Kedarnath temple in that peak, but they heard some animal's sound which is an omen for a spiritual event.
So till then they construct lord Shiva’s statue till neck and in Hindi Neck is known as 'Kanth' and Lord Shiva is having lots of names, so Kedar is one of them. That’s why it’s "KEDARKANTHA".
In Kedarkantha peak you can treat your eyes with following valleys that are- SWARGAROHINI, GANGOTRI, KALANAAG, YAMUNOTRI & BANDAROOCH. Once you are on the summit the captivating view will balance your emotion and gradually turns it into the spirituality. As at the top there is a small temple dedicated to Lord Shiva and goddess Parvati and a small shrine of Lord Ganesh too.

Day 5: Kedarkantha Base Camp to Sankri.

The day has come where you’ll have to leave the majestic view of the Himalayas and snowcapped mountain ranges. We’ll be heading back to the Sankri today. And the trek will be simple since the distance is short. Sankri is the stoppage village for more than ten treks; Known as Bali pass, Borasu pass, etc. The morning will welcome you with a spectacular sunrise between the pine trees which will proceed with the breakfast.

Day 6:  Drive back to Dehradun.

On your 6th day, you will head towards Dehradun from Sankri/Kotgaon, and it will take 6 hrs to reach. So better to start early in the morning, collect the memories and drive back to dehradun with all the fun and love.

Booking & Payment Policies

  1. You can either make the entire payment at once or pay an amount of Rs.2,000 per person in advance at the time of booking.
  2. The remaining payment to be made when you meet us at the pickup point or you can also pay at the base camp on the first day of the trek.
  3. You can make the payments for the booking via Google Pay, Phone Pay, cash, or bank transfer.
  4. The last date for the booking will be closed 5 days prior to trek departure.

Cancellation Policy

  1. In case of any emergency, or unavoidable circumstance, if you need to cancel the trek or any related activity, make sure to give us a call at +91 89795 68292.
  2. The cancellation fees will be applied beginning on the day we get a call from you regarding withdrawal of the trek, and will be as follows:
    ● Before 30 days: 90% of the total cost will be refunded
    ● Between 20−30 days: 70% of the total cost will be refunded
    ● Between 10−20 days: 50% of the total cost will be refunded
    ● Less than 7 days: No refund will be applicable
  3. Refunds are not valid in case of-
    ● Any unused services such as meals will not be reimbursed for any reason.
    ● If you leave the trek in between after we pick you up from the meeting point.
    ● If a customer is dissatisfied with any of the operator's services.

  1. Raftaar Adventures reserves the right to alter the order of the daily itinerary without prior notice. It could vary caused by unexpected travel-related events like weather changes, landslides, changes in flight plans, or traffic delays or limitations.
  2. If we cancel the group from our end, owing to any unforeseen circumstances, we will either move the booking to one of our other fixed departure trips or refund the entire payment, excluding any flight costs that are applicable.
  3. Our team takes the highest precautions to ensure the safety of every member throughout any adventure activities. However, in the event of any unforeseen accidents, we will not be held responsible for any harm done or for any fatalities. Moreover, before the trek begins, all members must sign a disclaimer form; otherwise, they will not be permitted to take part in any of the adventure activities.
  4. The trek package will not include and entertain-
    ● No on-demand meals, you will be served with a fixed menu during the trek.
    ● Any kind of alcoholic beverages will not be included in the trek package.
    ● No personal agenda to be fulfilled from the trek staff without permission.
  5. All members must have a valid photo ID such as aadhar card, or voter ID card at all times.
  6. Raftaar Adventures reserves the right to dismiss any member from the trek due to inappropriate behavior, including physical or verbal assault with other members or the trek staff.
