Beauty of the Brahmatal Trek Brahmatal Trek is one of the most solicited trek by the trekkers, mostly by the beginners. The trek is however Easy to Moderate. It challenges you through easy curvy trails in the beginning followed by steep snowy paths as you go further. Best Season to visit Brahmatal Trek Winters (December-March): The best fact about Brahmatal Trek is that it’s the only winter trek which is accessible from December to March in Winters. This is considered to be the best season for the Brahmatal trek. These cold winter months calls for a daytime temperature ranging between 0°C to 2°C. At night, the temperatures may fall to around -5°C to -10°C. Chilly nights asks for some proper warms clothes and clean pair of warm socks after a whole day of trekking. One can reach Dehradun via Airport – Jolly Grant Airport (Dehradun) which is well connected with most of the metropolitan cities or from Delhi.

Summer/Autumn And Spring (May-October): The weather is quite pleasant in the daytime with a cool breeze keeping you refreshed all the way. The temperatures during this time, vary depending upon the height or altitudes as one may start finding snow patches In the higher peaks and not in the lower ranges, unlike Winter times.
One can definitely not imagine coming across the whole galaxy of stars seen right after the golden sunset amidst the valleys with a mild cool breeze tranquillizing your mind and soul.
Always take the help of local guides or Package guides as they are best acquainted with the route and weather. It’s also better to plan such a trip in a group of more people as it adds safety and more fun and thrill.
Our guides, as well as tents, always have the facility of First Aid kits.
Proper Vegetarian Meals including Eggs only are provided to the trekkers to maintain their strength mentally and physically.
Instant Emergency Help is also available. In case if a person is suffering from AMS, he/she will be immediately taken to the nearest village hospital.
Proper trekking outfits as necessary will be provided i.e. Microspikes for shoes and Gaiters for trekking in the Snow. Though some of the other essentials might be offered by us but yet it is advisory to bring certain things like your own Sticks, gears.
Trekkers are yet advised to bring their own choice of medicines for nausea, vomiting, headache, stomach problems or AMS.
Carry lightweight backpacks as it otherwise adds weights to the body. Carry proper amount of light clothes as well as warmers with a minimum 4 pairs of socks and 2 pairs of gloves. Proper trek shoes and trek outfits are required to be worn. Make sure all of these are waterproof.
Or if anyone wants to be picked from Lohajung, they can reach there by availing a train from Dehradun or Delhi to Kathgodam and then hiring a cab or taxi till Lohajung Road – One can reach Dehradun by road from Delhi, being the main metropolitan city with the help of a Cab or Bus or a Train like 'Jan Shatabdi'.
Day 2: Lohajung to Bekaltal, 6.3Km; 7-8 hrs.
Day 3: Bekaltal to Brahmatal, 7.2km; 4-5hrs.
Day 4: Brahmatal to Summit and Back to Brahmatal, 7.6Km; 5hrs.
Day 5: Brahmatal to Lohajung, 8.6km; 6.7hrs
Day 6: Lohajung to Dehradun.
Day 1: Dehradun to Lohajung; 300Km, 7-8 hrs.
(We start our journey from Dehradun at 6:00 in the morning and reach Lohajung by late afternoon and get ourselves a bit of rest and a good meal. Enjoy the beauty of Lohajung with the locals. Sightseers can definitely have the privilege to enjoy the tourist spots)
One needs to reach Lohajung which is the initial base for starting the trek. We have kept the pickup point from Dehradun which is around 300 km away. One can enjoy the small mountain ranges from here on in Dehradun. You need to make sure to reach the bus stand prior to 10-15 min so as to not miss the trip. Enjoy the beautiful curvy roads sided by arrays of Deodar, Pine, oak trees and so more. The roads lead you to a heaven full of peaky mountains. You will be lucky enough to enjoy the snow-covered massifs if you are planning to make a trip in the winters as it has a lot to deliver and imprint in your mind. The many curvy streams of rivers seen from the top view and the gorges look magnificent giving you a chilled vibe to redesign your mind in a new way. We will be covering both the Kumaon as well as the Garhwal region along the way from Dehradun to Lohajung.
Once you reach Lohajung, you will be staying here for the night to get enough rest before starting your trek the next morning. You will be reaching by the afternoon or evening time only. Think of it as a chance to enjoy the accompany of the locals. You will be more than joyful to enjoy their warm behaviour. If you get the chance, always grab the opportunity to enjoy the ancient running history from the old people who love sharing their stories over a 'Garma – Garam Chai'. Make sure to sleep early as you need to start your trekking by 9:00 AM the next day after your Breakfast. Have a Good Night Sleep and remember to withdraw Cash from here itself as you won’t be getting neither network nor an ATM after this.
Day 2: Lohajung to Bekaltal; 6.3Km, 4-5 hrs.
(We then have the day’s first breakfast and covering few tourist spots will be headed for the first trek to Bekaltal by 9:00 in the Morning. Remember to withdraw cash in Lohajung but due to the unavailability of cash flow mostly in Lohajung it’s advisory to withdraw your money the first day of your travel.)
On Day 2, after the completion of your breakfast and sightseeing the nearby tourist spots you will start your trekking which is a 6.3km trek taking around 4-5 hours till BEKALTAL via the MANDOLI village . Enjoy the picturesque path that you’ve always dreamt of trekking enjoying the sequel of tranquillity and excitement taking over the body. Let NANDAGHUNTI mountains accompany you showing off it’s the best view all the way. You will be awestruck by the beautiful old and twisted hands of the ageing Rhododendrons forming a layer of canopy over your head. Though curvy and dangerous if not taken care of yet the excitement-filled inside you would make feel walking down an aisle. Be ready for your first base camp at this place. Enjoy the fun and laughter with your co-mates with a warm bonfire and a good meal followed by certain entertainments.
Day 3: Bekaltal to Brahmtal; 7.2km, 4-5hrs
(After our first tenting in Bekaltal, we then revitalize ourselves with a fresh and joyous mood to resume our trek for the next destination to Brahmatal or Khabekhal Lake via Telindi Top. A wide range of snow-capped mountains awaits our arrival with Mt. Trishul and Nandaghunti accompanying us side by side. And not to forget the beautiful and various flora and fauna adding into this top-notch beauty. We will be tenting here at night )
Day 3, calls for the next most exciting trek, i.e. the Brahmatal Trek which is again an approx 8km trek taking about 4-5 hours. Trekking along the magnificent lush green forests covered with snow, steep trails gearing up the trek to a different level, where the Telindi Top awaits for your arrival with a wide view of the enchanting Himalayas. Get to hold the cold fresh air and then continue the trek till you reach Brahmatal (or Khabekhal Lake). Overnight tents would be arranged with a proper meal of the night. Make sure to keep yourself hydrated and warm as it calls for a spine chilling night.
Day 4: Brahmatal to summit & Back to Brahmatal; 7.6km, 5hrs.
(Day 4, the most awaited day of our trek, TO THE SUMMIT. After waking up, today we will be trekking to the summit via Jhandi, enjoying the greatest and magnificent snow-covered Himalayas en route. The difficult track might want to pull us down, but we need to remember why and what made us continue and stay till now. The Summit awaits us with it’s best snowy vibe one can ever imagine. We will be returning back to Brahmatal the same day, hence planning a long 5-hour mindest of trekking. We will be tenting here at night once again.)
And then comes the most awaited Day 4, wherein we will be trekking to the Top summit of Brahmatal – The Brahmatal Peak which is a 7.6 km trek covering the peak and Daldum (Camping site) taking around 5 hours to complete. A full 360° view of the Himalayas to which on the right side lies Mt. Trishul and Nandaghunti close by. The trek though becomes steep and difficult continuously asking you to change your mind and quit yet one will be unaware of the fact which awaits you after the completion of this whole journey. En route, you will be covering the Chota Jhandidar and Bada Jhandidar enjoying the magnificent yet tricky trails enriched with a mountain with ridges on both it’s sides. After a full glimpse and intake of this memorialized view, we would be trekking further to our resting camp in Daldum. Enjoy the last night in the snow-capped peak sharing and making your memories with the other trekkers accompanying each other.
Day 5: Brahmatal to Lohajung; 8.6 km, 6.7hrs.
(Today calls for a trek back to Lohajung taking the same route. It’s going to take us around 7 hours as it calls for a non-stop trek back to our base. Remember to click as many pictures that you can to fill your travel calendar.)
Day 5 calls for the returning and accomplishment of the trek from Daldum to Lohajung. An overnight stay in Lohajung, that night calls for the last weaving of memories as the next day calls for a return back to Dehradun.
Day 6: Lohajung to Dehradun.
(Today, after having taken enough rest and memories from the trip, we are returning back to Dehradun and reaching by 6:00/7:00 pm in the evening. A good Adios will be bid to our trekkers and a hopeful Vamos will be expected in return!)
