Take a moment to immerse yourself in the serene beauty of this mountainous paradise before embarking on the next leg of your journey.

From Manali, embark on a scenic 45-minute drive to Jobra, the starting point of your trek. Jobra is a charming hamlet situated at an altitude of approximately 9,800 feet, surrounded by lush greenery and towering mountains, providing a picturesque setting to kick off your trekking adventure.

As you traverse through the winding mountain roads, you’ll be treated to panoramic views of the Beas River and the lush pine forests that carpet the hillsides. Keep an eye out for the quaint villages that dot the landscape, offering glimpses into the traditional way of life in the Himalayan region. Upon reaching Jobra, take a moment to stretch your legs and prepare for the trek ahead.

From Jobra, commence your trek to Chika. The trek covers a distance of approximately 2 Km and takes around 2 hours to complete, depending on your pace and the trail conditions. The route meanders through dense forests of pine and fir trees, with the gentle gurgle of the Rani Nallah accompanying you along the way. Enjoy a variety of flora and fauna native to the region, including vibrant Himalayan birds and elusive mountain wildlife.

Chika, situated at an altitude of 10,100 feet, offers a serene setting to acclimatise to the high altitude and immerse yourself in the natural beauty of the surroundings. Take a moment to breathe in the crisp mountain air and marvel at the majestic peaks that loom overhead. Settle into your campsite and unwind after a day of travel.

Day 2: Chika to Balu Ka Ghera Trek

Rise early to the gentle sound of birdsong and the rustle of the wind through the trees as you prepare for another day of trekking through the breathtaking landscapes of the Himalayas. After a wholesome breakfast, lace up your hiking boots as you set off on the trail to Balu Ka Ghera, your next destination. The trek covers a distance of approximately 8.5 Km and takes around 6 hours to complete, making it a moderate challenge for trekkers of all skill levels.

As you ascend through the picturesque landscape, you’ll traverse rocky terrain and lush meadows dotted with colourful alpine flowers. Pause occasionally to catch your breath and admire the panoramic views of the surrounding mountains, including the towering peaks of the Dhauladhar range.

Day 4: Siagoru to Chatru Trek | Chatru to Chandratal Drive and Back

As the sun rises over the snow-capped peaks of the Himalayas, lace up your hiking boots and prepare for another day of adventure in the mountains. After breakfast, bid farewell to Siagoru as you set off on the trail to Chatru, your next destination. The trek covers a distance of approximately 7 Km and takes around 5 hours to complete, making it a moderate challenge for experienced trekkers.

The trail winds its way through the picturesque Lahaul Valley, offering glimpses of towering peaks and pristine alpine meadows along the way. Keep your camera handy as you may encounter a variety of wildlife native to the region, including Himalayan blue sheep and grazing yaks. Pause occasionally to admire the beauty of the landscape and soak in the tranquillity of the mountains, as you make your way towards Chatru.

Chatru, situated at an altitude of 11,000 feet, is a popular stopover for trekkers and offers stunning views of the confluence of the Chandra and Bhaga rivers. Take a moment to rest and recharge before embarking on the next leg of your journey – a thrilling drive to Chandratal, the “Moon Lake.” The drive takes approximately 2-3 hours, passing through rugged terrain and breathtaking landscapes.

Chandratal, situated at an altitude of 14,100 feet, is renowned for its serene beauty and crystal-clear waters, reflecting the surrounding mountains like a mirror.
